how's this work then

I've always driven the Jim carefully, never going above 3000 rpm and have always returned 28 mpg :(

for the last tankful I've raced everywhere, never going below 5000 rpm (glad I've wheel spacers on  ) and now I'm getting 28.41 mpg :)

how does this VVT thing work ?

next week will be doing mostly 6500 rpm and maybe I'll get 29 mpg :P

I drive VERY steady... i probably annoy quite a few people, but i don't really care ;)

Top speed is 50-55,changing gear at 3k everytime
Engine break before pressing the stop pedal... and drop it through the cogs

I return 32-33mpg every tank and sometimes better depending on where i go

Rarely use super unleaded

Fully standard car apart from AT2 tyres

Halford, it will be your Grabber AT2s that are causing your fuel mpg loss, when I put them on my 2006 Jimny it went from 37 to 30mpg. It is due to the aggressive tread and slightly larger diameter. V VT variable valve timing helps the engine for performance and fuel economy.
