I have worked mine out at 17mpg, not bad considering all the extra weight of the cage, bumpers, tyres and rocklobster. On a long journey it works out cheaper to hire a trailer and tow it with my fully loaded 3500kg works van.

An old thread bumped maybe, but interesting nonetheless to newbies like me.

I've averaged Little Suzi (unmodified 2006 JLX+) at 33mpg over 2259 miles since I bought her in May. I think 38 is hopeful perhaps.

that's interesting guttercat, you getting 33 mpg in your unmodified 2006 JLX+

my 2007 JLX+ with a K&N filter, 32mm spacers and ATs gives 28mpg

Mudman

first rob a bank, then fill the Jim's tank with fuel until the nozzle cuts out - ie. the tank is completely full, then set your odometer to zero (trip) on the speedo.

Then do lots of miles and typically after 200 miles, go back to the garage and fill up with fuel - fill until the nozzle cuts out again.

Now take a note of how many miles you've actually covered, and a note of how many litres of fuel you've just put into the car.

then enter those two figures here .. www.mpg-calculator.co.uk/
