I drive mainly town driving in the week about 30miles a day and with 29" tyres and rocklobster seem to be getting about 34mpg but thats mostly pottering around apart from when the window is open and I hear the snorkel roar! :whistle:

You're not revving the engine enough. Remember it's a small engine made by people who only knew how to make motorcycles until recently :P mine sees 5000 rpm at least once a day, keeps the engine clean and fuel consumption is actually a bit better than when you keep the RPMs low.

we get 24mpg with the jimny on a trailer on the back of a diesel auto cherokee- usually on the motorway at 65mph :whistle:

Just curious Sam, what's your top speed with a rock lobster and 29" tyres?

top speed?! hmmmm well I've not gone above 70mph but i reckon its got a little more to give but i rarely take it above 55mph just to save petrol.

Last century I had an Austin Champ and I would get about 6 mpg with that.
