Ok cheers. Should I use the bolts they supply in the kit too or use the old ones? The old ones are perfectly fine. Also I don't suppose you know if the just the pins can be sourced without the rubber bits and bolts to keep costs down?

And am I right in understanding the piston itself is OK despite the tiny bit of corrosion on the lip? I could just smooth that off gently and put a dab of kurust on it to stop it spreading later?

These will fix the sliders but not the piston if it's seized or corroded to the point of damaging the seal.

My sliders seized to a point and I obtained a rebuild kit from Bigg Red just for the rubber boots and had a spare set of calipers for the tubes as they needed driving out and got damaged in the process.

Getting the new rubber boots to stay in place when you put the tubes back through them is interesting but Martin's guide on rebuilding front brakes helped.

If your sliders are not completely seized and you can get the tubes out you can get just the rubber boots in the Bigjimny shop. Use red rubber grease on re assembly to prevent them seizing again but I've found they need re greasing ever now and then.

Edit : Just read the previous page and seen your photos. That kit you've found should be just the ticket then as it has new tubes in.

I see! Well I have ABS so I suppose I have 5 nipples!

Are these from ebay okay quality wise?

Can't find just the pins...

They should be fine, there are some in the store here too.

I don't know how many bleed nipples there are on an abs system, I'd expect one at each wheel for 4.

But there might only be 3, with a single nipple at the rear on the passenger side, same as a non-abs car.

With abs, you will need to bleed all of them, as air can get into the abs pump.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Thanks kirkynut. I'll get them then as finding just the tubes seems impossible. Is there any school of thought on using the old bolts or should I use new bolts with new sliders?
