Wrote the blog last night, and when I was proof-reading it back I realised I hadn't bent the tab back in when refitting the hub / bearing so had to re-strip it this morning anyway...

Not enough time today though to do the other side, so that will be Sunday now... was hoping to do it sooner, as we're greenlaning next weekend (26th) in the Lake District, so I did want some more time after fitting the LSD / Shafts / CVs i
n case anything goes wrong... time will tell! (all seems ok though?!)

Thanks Dave for the photo, i will give it another go at the w/end and check on the amount of grease.

Completed today! B)

Driver's-side all rebuilt, tie-rod adjust after new rod ends fitted, LSD oil in the axle...

Went round and checked everything was tight, and then test-drove it, and then went to do a local greenlane, had it in 4x4 without the rear (ARB) locked to see how it felt... LSD definitely working drove it up a grass bank to test, and no spinning from the front... will test it in ernest at the weekend, as 'our little group' is up in the Lake District...

Oooo, and the vacuum activated hubs still work as Suzuki intended too! B)

Many thanks to Martin for his excellent KingPin replacement instructions! Helped a Jimny-spannering-virgin no end ;)

How did you get on Nick?

My driver's-side (square-washer and circlip) slipped in just as easy as the passenger-side...

Hi Dave, i still had no joy with fitting the circlip,i can pull the shaft out enough to hear it knock up against the hub or so called to fit the circlip on.so i haven't over greased it. james (j999pre) is going to send me some more in the post. as mine are not in very good shapes from previous owner which i'm hoping thats the problem. but if still no joy it looks like i will have to have the square washes machined down or thinner circlips. i will keep you posted. Thanks Nick

Is the wheel bearing/spindle seated correctly? If the stub comes up against the back of the hub without enough of the shaft end exposed then it sounds as if something is making the hub too fat
