yes twice once he told me to machine down the stub but i thaught i would weaken the stub since it is hardened so i machined the copper in the hub with a sandpaper so th stub could fit . then asked him about the circlip which could not fit ,he told me to leave it without it and agiain i machined it down with the grinder to fit
it was not that simple for me to make the swap since the meaturements were not accurate and not a direct swap but happy with the size of cv and shafts

Nicks_Jim wrote: Hi safari, i'm sorry to here that you had the same problem.quest we are not the only ones there be others if we dig deep. did you contact rob storr about it ?

safari wrote: hi i had the same problem when fitting them .only on 1 side i had to machine down the washer tried it on both sides it is is the cv with problem and also had problems with the stubs witch were thicker than the standard ones so first meature them ;)

How did you get on Nick?

My driver's-side (square-washer and circlip) slipped in just as easy as the passenger-side...

Hi Dave, i still had no joy with fitting the circlip,i can pull the shaft out enough to hear it knock up against the hub or so called to fit the circlip on.so i haven't over greased it. james (j999pre) is going to send me some more in the post. as mine are not in very good shapes from previous owner which i'm hoping thats the problem. but if still no joy it looks like i will have to have the square washes machined down or thinner circlips. i will keep you posted. Thanks Nick

From my experience, yes, mine fitted perfectly first time, both sides...

The caliper bolts were too long though, as I mentioned in my own blog ...

So I've spaced them out with a couple of washers until I can get some correct length ones from my fastenings supplier...

Why not simply file them down on something like a bench grinder
