Vitara Diff in a Jimny (front) Axle? was created by Bits4Vits
I'm sure I've read at some point that Vitara ring and pinnions can be fitted into a Jimny Axle to lower the final drive ratio to correct the gearing for large tyres?
Does anyone know if the actual diff (as pictured below minus the third member / carrier of course) will fit in the front axle of a Jimny?
I've got an ARB air-locker to go in the back of my Jimny build, and am wanting to fit my front LSD (Limited Slip Differential) in the front, which is a Calmini Vitara front LSD, so I'm assuming if the crown wheel and pinnion fit, then the actual diff should fit too?
Jimny shafts are 26 spline?
Thanks in anticipation...
Dave

Ah well, suppose if I've nicked the front ARB from the buggy, I can always fit the LSD into the Calmini Anvil axle destined for it...
Only other way is uprated front shafts in the Jimny's front axle then?... they'll be 26 spline?...
Don't really want to go to that expense (yet) though...

I suspect they would on an open diff, but as it's an LSD unit the side gears look to be custom shaped to fit in between the clutch plates - www.bits4vits.co.uk/lsdfsm.pdf
