I know you can fit a sj413 rear diff in rear with vit r&p but the front don't fit in jimny axle

This is what started me thinking about whether my LSD would fit, as I remember reading you can fit Vitara front ring and pinnions in Jimny axles...

Vitaras come in various ratios, (in the UK) early Vitaras have 5.125:1 final drive ratios, i.e. 41 teeth on the crown wheel and 9 on the pinnion, and later Vitaras have 4.875:1, i.e. 39 teeth on the crown wheel and 8 on the pinnion...

So they are lower than Jimny diff ratios - www.bigjimny.com/images/documents/transferboxratios.pdf

I'm pretty sure that Vitara_Mad is correct, you can't fit a Vit R&P in the front, if you could then you would be able to use any Vit or SJ413/Samurai ratio.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

Still trying to achieve this...

It's not the ring and pinnion I want to fit into the Jimny's axle, I just want to be able to fit the actual carrier into the third member, i.e. the diff innards, to replace the Jimny's open diff with a limited slip diff...

Have asked the god-of-gearing (Rockwatt) and he seems to think the carrier will fit in the third?...

My LSD is 26 spline, so will have to convert the shafts to 26 spline from either :

RS - www.rsmfg.co.uk/page%2031.html
TJ - www.trialjimny.com/axle.html

Rob Storr's seem better value at the moment, have found an old post about the cost of Trial Jimny's shafts / CVs, but waiting on a reply from an email to them...

Or if there's anyone else out there selling them?

Need to make sure the LSD will actually fit in the carrier though, so borrowing a front diff off Brett / "Maverick" for a look and a measure, cheers Brett B)
