Ok Tom just ran the numbers thru the calculator this is what you will get

Jimny with standard axles and transfer box on 30 inch tall tyres will be doing 58mph at 3000rpm of the engine

Jimny with standard axles and transfer box on 33 inch tall tyres will be doing 64mph at 3000rpm of the engine

Mine is slower (lower geared)as my axle ratio is 4.99:1 against a jimny that is 3.416:1

Ive based this on 3000rpm as to be honset much above that fuel economy will suffer

End of the day its hard to have it both ends of the scale unless you get into 2 speed axles and all that bumf
And driving a jimny on 33s i would say 64mph is fast enough IMO

Spoonie my man and follower of all things Derv lol

If i can secure this DOHC jimny this weekend then yes there will be a twin cam/Isuzu diesel conversion :)

Price wise i reckon will be around the £550 mark for that you will get a new flywheel converter plate and engine mounts to weld onto jimny chassis.

Can you complete in a week i would say yes will be

Engine out
Cut off jimny engine/chassis mounts
Trim and weld in new mounts
fit adaptor plate
Remove y ring gear from Isuzu and sweat new 1 onto new flywheel done in the wifes oven lol
300tdi Rad may be able to supply some mounts as a extra
You need to turn the turbo compressor housing to face north easily done with a couple of spanners
Will look at making a adaptor to connect jimny exaust as an extra but will probably need welding
Then just leaves the plumbing and wiring all very easy with bits of hose from ebay
Plus all the Tech support you need from yours truly :)

All that I get - I think

I'm just thinking about the slower running dieselengine. But you're probably right. going any faster on 33's any a lot of fun
