Could I remove my old 110k 'M' gearbox and fit a 'G' in it's place without major modification?

What are the advantages of a 1.7td Isuzu motor over say a 1.6 Baleno one, given that it is probably gonna be substantially heavier and alot more work to fit? Starting to think if its all worth it given my car is not a daily driver and I only cover about 2000miles/year max

easiest swop for you is a 1.6 lianna will work with your gearbox and injection system

Gonna do some more research on mpg, power and torque outputs and weight differences before I make a final decision.

MPG and Torque wise nothing will come close to the diesel bhp wise petrol will be higher but dont matter a rats ass in a truck for crawling thru mud torque is what you need.My Starlet makes 170bhp at the flyweel and revs to 8500rpm but weighs about the same as a empty plastic cup so its fine in that but for a 4wd that is not what you need unless you are planning to go racing
