Replied by X-Eng Simon on topic New Jimny project - a few questions!
After I sold X-Eng to Foundry4x4, I've become an Engineering Design Consultant. The idea was that it would give me more time, but in practice it has meant I'm never at home and cannot use this or my Defender - never mind fettle them!
With a fair bit of sadness, I'm going to sell my Jimny (and very possibly Defender too later in the year).
I've run it for about 3 years and it's been great!
Not quite unstoppable (The above stopped it, but only because it broke a CV - since replaced with Longfield CV's & Shafts front & rear at no small expense) but it's given Land Rovers & even Quads a run for their money. It's very light (about 1200kg) so fantastic for climbing.
Last month, the front gearbox oil seal went - so the gear oil is leaking out as fast as you can put it in! I started the job of replacing it - but ran out of time so have to sell it as a non runner / project.
What would I get if I bought it?
* 4 x Fox Air Shox
* MSA Spec Internal Cage
* Non MSA Spec External Cage / Body Protection
* Toyota 80 Series Axles with Diff-Locks.
* Full set of new Longfield Shafts & CV's
* Front Single Link suspension
* Rear 4 link suspension
* 4 x 37" Fedima 'Swamper' Pattern Tyres
* 4 x Beadlock rims
* Twin Optima PC1450 Batteries.
* LODAR 4 Channel Winch Remote
* Vitara + SJ410 Twin Transfer box conversion (Low & Super-low)
* Original Jimny 1.3 Engine
* Vitara 4 Speed Auto with adaptor plate to Jimny Engine (Leaking!)
If I just broke it for parts, I would see almost £3k based on typical eBay prices.
I'd like £2500 ono. I also have an old but recently serviced Brian James transporter trailer for it and would take £3,000 for the whole thing including the trailer.
The only bit I'm not selling is my 8274 Winch - as I feel too emotionally attached to it! (It's a long story).
PM me if you are interested!
