Great Photos there Mr Dog!
I presume that's Proto Class?
I'm afraid the extent of my off roading in Russia was getting the wheel of a Volvo stuck in one of the tram rails in Moscow. More extension travel would have been very useful!
My Fox's are only 14" travel. If I extend the bump stops, unless I re-make the top mountings the extension travel will be the same. I will just loose a bit of compression.
I've been offered some 33" Fedima Simex copies which apparently measure about 34.5"

Thanks. Yes, previos photos are from pros road.
Welcome to "Ladoga" and "Arctic Trophy". Seen couple of british and norwegian guys in 2011 on LRs. Arctic Trophy is the most pleasurable for Jimny. Only extra light vehicles like sammy and jimny can drive above bogs on Kolsky peninsula.
200 meters of cable also helps, btw...
Just if you decieded to join - try to avoid such a bullbars etc.
Try to keep it as light as possible.
Thats some kind of teaser I used to make when was looking for interesting tracks for our local competitions.
Skip to 0:20 and don't listen to me.

That bog looks evil!
Earlier in this the thread there is a drawing of my planned roll cage with front & rear winch mountings.
My last Suzuki weighed in at 970kg including me and a tank of fuel. This one is a bit heavier, but I have a target weight of 1200kg which is still fairly light.

Thing about 'skills' is they are easy to pick up!
10 years ago, I couldn't weld and had barely lifted a spanner! Most of my building was using a Soldering Iron and a C Compiler!
My friend & I built a small workshop in his garage, bought a drill, saw bench, then eventually a lathe & mill and it just mushroomed from there.
I tended to buy tools instead of off the shelf Accessories which eventually meant that I could make just about anything. My craft skills are not great - so for production I just subcontract the making out to a grown-up but I can prototype most things and am getting better!
