Mate, youve really put my mind at rest. I was getting worried for a moment thinking id got my plans all wrong lol.

Thats great news, and im so glad i have you guys here to guide these jimny adventures.

Thank you once again for your excellent information and guidance :cheer: :cheer: :silly: :cheer:

The one i ordered is the same as the one in the video, but with the more powerful 55-s with 5,500ibs and synthetic rope. To sayn im excited is an understatment. First ever winch ive owned.

It definitely is a thing of beauty andy! I’m pretty ignorant with regard to winch pulling power. But the jimny can’t weigh much more than a very large ATV (that the winch is advertised against on the warn website). Which winch tray did you buy?

Be sure to keep us updated with pictures - I’m just as excited as you are!

Instead of the 12V ignition feed you could install a dedicated switch. Then you can choose if you want the winch operable or not.

I'd not heard of this design before. It does look impressive. Do you have an overall weight for the winch with synthetic rope?
Looking forward to some fitted pics.

I chose this winch because it has been fitted successfully to a number of comoany jimnies in Germany and russia. It has a 5,500ibs capacity but can pull much more. Here is a warn sponsored video pulling a f150 weighing 8500ibs up a steep incline.

Also a safe conversion is take your GVm and times it by 1.5. So that 1.5 tons jimny which equals around 2.3 tons i need. Which is easily in the scope of the axon.

I will only use it lightly anyways, just to get me out of muddy bogs at my local quarry.

The mount is this one.

Iverall weight is 25kg for mount and i havnt yet looked at axon weight. Axon weight is around 15kg.

I'll detail the install with pics etc, and thanks for your replies chaps.
