Ive got a winch on its way and I will have to qoute "Tap into a switch" for turning the winch to power on, either when i start the car or other.
Its a Axon winch so it requires very little wiring, and so i will need to connect to positve and neg/earth and then simply (he says) to a "switch". Guys..... where rhe heck do i tap into this please?? Fuse box or do i splice wires or?? Help!!
Thank you in advance.

In addition I would also put a fuse (about 400A) in the + cable close to the battery so that i case of a short circuit, e.g., in case of an worn cable, accident, ... , the power goes out and also disconnect the + cable during on road use.
If you are not comfortable with high amps car electrics,, I would ask someone to help you, because the winches use a lot of electric power And gives a lot of mechanical power.

Thanks mate,
This winch has whats called a monactor, which is the contactor and motor already encased in the housing. It cuts out the need for relays and fuses. So all i need to connect is battery and 1 switched connection. Im thinking the ignition, but just wondering how i tap into it, and where abouts its located.
Any thoughts, hope i got that all right.

In the pictures you can see what I did to get a D+ (the D+ switches on, if the alternator is producing electricity)
Once you located the switched power, the I would get the connector out of the plug, attach another cable and put The connector back into the plug.
