Go for the kit with the inner and outer seals. You may as well do the inner one whilst it's all in bits and the outer one will probably have seen better days by now as well.
You best check the oil level in the axle too.
It's not that bad a job especially if you have Martins excellent 'how to' guide to hand.
Best of luck :silly:

Thanks, was just about to ask about oil in the axle. In the video when the half shaft is withdrawn some oil is evident but there's no mention in the video of topping anything up. I'll look that bit up on the site, where to fill and oil type to use.

Yeah, it doesn't gush out, I had mine slightly jacked up on the offending end to make sure. But if the inner seals gone some may have escaped whilst driving plus the orrible stuff that's bin slopping around inside your hub may have gone in.
Level could have gone up as well as down.

What oil is used in the front axle and where do you top it up?

There are two plugs on the diff. The bottom one is for draining the other at mid height is for checking/replenishing. The plugs are sometimes very tight so using the correct size square plug spanner is essential. 10mm. 3/8 in imperial is close but if very tight will slip and chew the hole up so better to get the correct size first! Hypoid gl5 and it holds 1.1Litre. Check when car level and fill till the oil just weeps out of the fill. wait till it stops and fit plug.

The wiki also has a useful article detailing oil quantity and specification:
