Well, all was going fairly swimmingly until I got to the ABS sensor bolt. Sheared that off. Never mind, out with the drill and soon drilled that out.
Then the small bolts holding the seal and retainer in place. I don't think they have ever been out since the vehicle left the Suzuki plant. 3 of them don't even look like bolts anymore and will not budge and the heads are completely shot to bits.
The 10mm ring spanner just rounded them off in an instant. This is with 2 weeks of WD40 as well.
Just need to have a think about this.
Any good ideas will be gratefully received.

Irwins bolt and nut removers... expensive but worth every penny, brilliant piece of kit.

I always try to crack stubborn bolts with a bit of "righty tighty" before "lefty loosey"

Hi There,
Feel a bit guilty, as I may have encouraged you to do the job. If the Irwin extractors don't work, and before you try them, give the bolts a few good sharp taps from as many sides as you can, using a suitable drift, preferably copper, try and hit only where the flats are, or were. Then more WD 40. I guess the only option, is to get the metal seal parts off, using whatever measures you can, then take the knuckle to a machinist to drill and re-tap. I hadn't heard of these Irwin extractors before, but my guess is, If the bolts or that rusted in, they are going to sheer any way, I did see whilst investigating this tool, that they can come as a set, with some "left hand cobalt drill bits" I have been told by an engineer friend, that these can work, by sometimes unscrewing the bolt as they drill. Also whilst the knuckle is off, you could apply some heat around each bolt, then try to cool just the bolt with WD 40, difference in expansion may just free them enough to come out with a left hand drill. I wouldn't advise trying a stud extractor, as these usually sheer, and then you are left with the problem of getting that out, and the only way I found on another job was with a masonry drill, plenty of oil, and about 5 hours! Sorry I can't help more.
