Sandspider wrote: Quick question on this please gents - are there drain holes in the sills / door bottoms etc. to let water out, that need to be kept clear? Or can you just literally fill the sills up completely with waxoyl type stuff?

Cheers.

The Waxoyl forms a protective barrier layer on the metalwork, you don't need to fill up the sills etc. like you would if injecting expanding foam into house cavity walls.
IMHO the drain holes should be kept clear. There are drain holes and the Waxoyl will run out of them if the weather is hot enough while it is being injected. All my Suzukis have all have suffered sill rot so I think getting the sills and doors sorted is essential. The chassis tend to be OK from experience

Thanks.

I didn't really intend to fill them right up! Just wondering if there were drain holes. And as there are drain holes, are they not big enough to get a waxoyl lance into from the bottom? I suppose not...

You suppose correctly. There are decent holes to use though on the sill insides - I think it is mentioned in that link I left. Hehe, I didn't think you were going to fill them up but the motor might float better when wading.

Not sure my Jim could cope with the extra weight! Maybe I should seal them and fill with hydrogen, then it would float on the road too!

I have used Dinitrol on mine - got a few cans to try a couple of months back. The long tube you get for their aerosols is very fine and should go through drain holes OK. It also covers better than the old waxoyl one. I did inside the chassis - the round tubes that go from left to right - and was impressed at how well it covered. Just push the tube in as far as it will go, press the button and draw out slowly. Eyewear and something underneath a good idea!

Thanks Ray - sounds good. If I can avoid drilling I will! Might wait till the weather warms up though. I assume it was Dinitrol 3125 (cavity wax) you used? How's it holding up so far? (Though I guess a couple of months isn't very long!)
