must admit that a couple of years ago I hadn't realised mine had lapsed by 2 months

hopefully now with smart phones and calenders it'll be easier to manage

the wife doesn't have a problem as her friendly little local garage sends her a reminder and they only add £20 to the bill

don't get me started on the disappearing tax disc .......... OK, I start .... stupid clueless tossers, trust me in a year or so it'll come back

The garage I used to use for mot's used to send out a text reminder, which was free of charge.

im sure the goverment will make pleanty in fines for no road tax to make it worth their while.

Cheers for all the support just a shame a few people are so quick to judge others for their mistakes without knowing the full story

Sorry dude but by your own admission you have defective king pins wheel bearings and have removed part of the suspension, all of which are potentially detrimental to the safety of your car. To then come on the Internet and confess these and openly hope that the mot test does not pick up on the same faults, it's not a responsible attitude to take. You know the car has issues so fix them voluntarily don't wait to see if you are forced to or not. Alternatively consider the implications of an accident, you don't fix the steering and the car carriers onto the pavement and you kill a pedestrian, don't be so naive as to think your insurance company won't look on the Internet for evidence of negligence on your part. Also how will you be able to live with the knowledge that if you had fixed your car to the best of your knowledge you could well have not caused the accident at all?

A fair few members remove the ARB with no detrimental affects its just abit of a grey area regarding the MOT side of things which is why I mentioned it.i still have the bar so can put it back on if needed.

I get a very slight "death wobble" from the king pins and ive seen and heard of much worse.

I think its quite amazing that people are moaning at me when on a weekly basis we have people posting about kingpins and such and yet ive never seen anyone moan at them about road safety etc. someone put a vid up a while back which showed their death wobble and it was shaking the dash!! Not a mention about them wiping out pedestrians and it was blatantly on the road! Its not like the kingpins suddenly go is it they get progressivly worse therefor your driving on "dodgy kingpins" for a while untill it shakes bad enough for you to replace them, I doubt everyone takes their jim off the road at the slightest wobble and if they did we wouldnt see any on the road!my wheel bearings are only slighly whiring, on my first car I used to kill wheel bearings due to large alloys so know what a fucked one sounds like and mine arnt bad at all.

Im self employed and on a very low income while my new business gets off the ground, so cant always afford to get things done instantly.the problems I mentioned were due to be sorted after xmas before my MOT which I thought was in febuary but turns out its due now.

obviously everyones entitled to their opinion but we should all bare in mind no one really knows each other or their situation.
