Gosh, my brain has just gone into crash mode - super idea.
I had hoped the alarm would be current sensing so if a light came on it would activate it. Not so though. It needs the actual grounding/earthing.
Only two difficulties as I see it. First, and this is a biggie, is it means the CL will be off most of the time and second, I'll need to run a lead into the roof to hook up to the switch or I'll have to locate the hot supply lead to the light and I hate cutting into harness wires.

They are good and if you don't want the ultrasonic you can have it without and save a few quid.

Wanted the ultrasonic so I could tell when I left an airvent open on a windy day

I had some reservations; the first being the fact that the shock sensor is part of the brain. I also didn't want ultrasonics and I did indeed ask them about not having them and they said they'd knock off a few measly quid. I don't like that sort of detection much. I also like having the slider covers on the fob as I know the buttons get pressed in my pocket. Also I really only wanted remote central locking with a bit of alarm thrown in. And finally I am cheapjack.
I do think it is a good alarm and if I can sort out mine - one seller reckons it can have the tick tock programmed out -by adding a small switch I would be happy with it.
