I want to add a pin switch to the bonnet and I need to reconnect the door courtesy light with an override for turning it off when it annoys me.

With the flasher leads disconnected how do you know the system has armed?

Siren goes chirp - literally sounds like a demented Robin. Also there is the visual on the door pins.
BTW, the flashers are now connected again. I took the door switch lead off and connected the given lead for the acc. side of the ignition switch. You have to have one or the other (door switch or acc. switch) to stop the alarm from re-arming.
Incidentally I am going to reconnect the courtesy light switches to the brain with an interruptor switch after I install a pin switch in the bonnet.
