I think one of us must have got our wires crossed. I'm an MOT tester and we still have a decelerometer at work for use on 4x4's with permanent 4 wheel drive. Also on my MOT training 2 years ago we were shown how to use a decelerometer for this purpose.Gary Whenmouth wrote: I realy want to lock my rear diff! but as a brake tester engineer I know its a no no unless it can be disabled for the MOT. A decelerometer is still used in the trade, but not for MOT use.
You may be right and this might of changed but VOSA havent informed any of the testers at my place. It's not something we use every day as its rare that we will get a 4x4 to MOT unless its one of mine!
Chris
Decelerometer is still acceptable for MOT I have found out. I don't fully understand how they show up brake faults.

My jimny is a weekend toy, I will also get bored and build something new and sell it with all mods left on so a cheap lockrite will give me plenty of bang for my buck. Roll on the group buy.
