I'm going all out on it I think. I've got plenty wire wheels and flapper discs.
Once the body is split from the chassis, I might send it to the local shotblasters, or maybe do it myself. Will just have to see what the costs are and weigh up either hiring kit or just getting someone to do it.

I'll hopefully get the body split in the next week or so and then I'll get all the welding done over the coming month. I think a few of those captive bolts will need to be replaced and I'm guessing I'll have to cut in from the floor of the body to get access to them. Apart from that, it's mainly grinding and painting that will take the bulk of the time.

I would replace all bolts as a matter of course. I suggest you use a 1-1.6 mm cutting disc and slice off the end of the bolt. Then turn the cutting disc through 90degrees and slice upwards to cut the nut in half. Yes you can try all the other ideas first and suffer the aggro involved but why bother. Two cuts per bolt and job done.
You're probably right given that most of those bolts do look beyond use.
Do you know if the captive bolt heads are easy to access, it looks to me like every one will need the floor cut open at access and replace.
