I've had a look under my Jimny and also pulled the carpet up to see how to remove the 8 bolts holding the body onto the chassis. The front two look simple enough to get to from the top, but as for the others, I can't see how they are accessed from the top, do you need to cut away sections of the floor to get to these?

Thanks. That's what was dreading, the bolts on the underside are rotten. Ah well, it's going to be one of those jobs.

I think the six remaining nuts are going to be a bit of a bugger to get off as they won't be hex shaped.
I'll take some pics and post them tomorrow, they might make you giggle/wince. If anything, I'll probably need to plan to cut open the body and replace the captive bolts.

You may be pleasantly surprised, I've seen some pretty nasty looking ones come off. I have in the past hammered sockets one or two sizes smaller onto nuts with success.
