o answer a couple of questions - yes you can grease the CV when you do the king pin bearings as you need to pull the shaft out with the CV on or at least can do and I found a Halfords Professional 1" socket fits nicely just inside the race to knock it out from the outside as it fits inside the hole on the swivel but not through the race.

Hi Daniel, welcome to the site.
I've used this forum to do quite a few jobs on my Jimny and these guys are top class in both the advice offered and the depth of knowledge available. Use the Big Jimny Store for as much as I can too - top service and prices.
One thing I experienced when changing the KPB's on mine was that I had a few rounded bolts which had to be replaced due to corrosion/rounding (a lot were dealer only replacements too so there was an added waiting time for delivery - not to mention the cost). If I remember correctly the hub bolts and the swivel seal bolts were the worst for me, I also ended up having to cut off the tie rod end so had to replace that. Another small point on that, I don't think it's recommended to re-use the nyloc nuts on the tie-rods either but these are fairly cheap to buy.
Wasn't a big deal for me as I was replacing just about everything on the front hubs anyway but something to consider before diving in with spanners.
There are far more experienced home mechanics (and qualified ones too) on here than me so I'd follow their advice before mine but thought I'd pass on my tuppence worth.
Good luck

Should have worded that better mate, no offence intended. I was trying not to imply that I was in any way a mechanic didn't mean to suggest nobody was.
