hey folks, I am running 32.5" tyres with rob storrs shafts and cvs and I cant fault them, I also have arb lockers and have gave it a serious amount of off roading and love them!!

I am sure you can still get 26 spline side gears for the arb, speak to gareth at ARBIL. I got them to fit the side gears before they posted them out, I also have the 22 spline side gears in the shed just incase I need to go back to normal shafts.

I also didn't realise the arb,s are 4pin diffs. nice to know :)

I think I read that ARB only do 22 spline lockers now, so I guess that means having the side gears from a rear diff put in it when it's built up to use the 26 spline from shafts.

I don't think you can (should!) take an ARB (air-locker) to bits to change the side gears?, you could with a Lockright or similar though...?

Ah bugger. Let's hope that Lindsay is right above then!

so excuse my dumbness lol but would there be any downside to having mechanical lockers off road as opposed to an ARB locker ? Purely off road

When you buy the arb you can spec it with the 26 spline sides or you can buy them separately to convert yourself (simple job to change) standard side gears do not fit in an arb they are quite different and one side carries the locking teeth.
Using 22 spline with bigger tires and lockers is pointless! The bigger diameter shaft you can fit the better it would be.
I wouldn't even waste the time making 22's and I cant think what Zanfi are playing at to be honest. If you could fit Zanfi CVs with rs shafts that would be a good setup.

Thanks Richard, that's the clarification I needed from someone in the know to move on from best reconning to informed opinion/fact!
