what if the electric isolater welds the terminals? for the sake of £10 for a manual switch why not have both?

And what if and what if and what if??

What if both isolators weld... ? That is a possible risk, if you only use cheap stuff.

Instead, spent money on a good quality isolator, not just a cheap £10 one.
like this one perhaps www.red-winches.com/products/albright-wi...tor-12v-solenoid/62/

Also, there's no reason for 2 battery cut off switches. One is sufficient.

So long as its at the Battery end... :)

you only need two isolators if you have a cable going from battery 1 to Battery 2 in a two battery split charge system

Exactly, as close to the battery as possible. And the winch solenoid as close to the winch as possible :)

Yes I could have but the solenoid is neatly installed with buzz bars why would I want too plus the cost of cable thick enough to prevent resistance id rather just chop a cross member

Have you cut the entire crossmember off?

It is a essential part of the structural integrity of the body. So if that has been cut off completely, you need to make something as a substitute.

50 mm2 cables aren't that expensive :)
