Jack that side up only, and very little, if anything will come out.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

First thing that I thought when I read the post so it'll be interesting to see what the situation is. Also, I know the grease needs room to expand etc. but won't there come a time when sufficient has been forced out so it can be left???

Apparently the hub has been completely filled to the brim with one shot grease. As the Jimny is used, it's coming out through the swivel seal.

It's not pouring out, but after a a few days driving there's enough to build up a blob on the back of the swivel that then drops off on the wheel/tyre/driveway.

Before it was filled up, nothing came out at all.

I'm sure after time it will stop as it's got through the excess, but I'd rather clean it up and put proper CV grease in there.

To be fair, the one shot grease is fine for CVs and bearings, that is what landrover made it for.

Just scoop out some of the excess.

Be warned that it isn't waterproof, and when water gets into the swivel housing it will just sit at the bottom and wreck the lower bearing.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Turns out the only reason for the leakage on the ball was due to the large amount of grease in the swivel. So no issues with the seals (although they were replaced).

The CV grease I purchased is the same grey stuff as the one shot stuff.

Is it better to use a thicker normal LM style grease for these?

Try the waterproof grease Martin sells in the Big Jimny shop. I used this when I did mine.
