The g wagon axles really aren't better than Toyota ones,
The rear g wagon is good, the front axle isn't though the shafts and cv's just aren't strong enough and the front wheel bearing setup is pretty poor,
I broke about 6 cv's, 3 or 4 short front shafts and one long shaft before I gave up on the g wagon axles that was only on 35" simex
I ran 37" boggers on 80 series e locked axles and in 2 years I broke 2 cv's.
both times I broke the cruisers they deserved to break, a few of the cv failures on the g wagons were so pathetic it was hard to see how they'd broken.

Must admit Dave, I've also heard that g wagon axles aren't any stronger than 70 series axles and the like. But still interesting because of the diff locker.
Gmogger just forgets to mention what vehicle he broke the axles with.

Most of the failure you read about are down to people who do not understand the operation of the CV joint if you strip one look and understand how it works you will see that failure can be avoided by setting your steering stops correctly most people just wind them off and think all will be well.
Prob the biggest crock of shit I have read since some plank on here told me that a 200 TDI shit box discovery engine could smash a Volvo C303 portal axle
about time people started writing about fact and no ruddy fiction

Every one learns for what thay fit if dave brakes it he will learn just like the rest of us and he will make it stronger/better cos hes the man who can from what iv seen also you fit to your budget and what is avalible at the time then the best of the best may not be within the budget and like most of us our jimny is a toy and have other thing to put money into or its a daily drive and dont have time to fit modded parts
