For my edification and interest has anyone found or indeed published an list of compatible components between the two Jimny's? What I'm meaning is things like front hubs, differentials, transfer cases, springs, dampers, brake pads and calipers even axle casings? I'm not able to volunteer to do a comparison but it would be useful if we knew what swaps and what doesn't for example if 1.5 diffs would allow a 1.3to run 29 inch tyres and retain sensible gearing or if 1.3 manual hubs fit directly to 1.5 knuckles, if the 1.5 front axle has eradicated the king pin degradation issue and would fit the 1.3?

I have looked at the Japanese sites but even with Google translate I'm out of my depth. Anyone know of anything useful?

At first look (a quick crawl underneath) it looks like a new body and engine bolted on top of the old running gear.

BAsed on the pictures of Japanese companies buying the Jimny on the morning of launch day in Japan and running them around on large tyres with a lift in the same afternoon it sounds like a direct fit for existing parts.

Only a guess.

So from that we can interpolate that but for the engine and main gearbox more or less all modifications are interchangeable between the two cars?
