Or just disconnect at the engine end and extend to a catch tank and let the fuel pump lift it out?

Trouble is that the pump only runs for a few seconds if the engine doesn't start. You could keep turning the ignition on and off but I think I'd get tired of that quite soon with the small amount that cones out.

And my hope that there was no anti-syphon device was in vain, its not possible to get a syphon in :(

The good news is that my technique of going to bed and leaving it over night has worked, the revs are now down to 750. I guess a sensor or valve was stuck and has freed itself up :)

Still got a steamy exhaust and something rumbling at the front of the engine though :(

Have you not got a mower you can use it in or just keep it for cleaning jobs later.
As for starting that is classic Suzuki. .All the ones I have had that have stood for a long time and that is SJ, Vitara and my gold Jimny all fired up on the button............superb.
So what task is next Martin?

1. Front wheel bearing, I must have loaned my own hub tool out a while back so I am having to wait for my favourite store to get some back in on Tuesday.

2. O2 sensor, ordered from distributor

3. Bleed brakes (new calipers have been fitted)

4. Head gasket test kit. Ordered and should tell me if the steam in the exhaust is of concern. Water system is fine, no loss of water and no over pressure but I get stream from the exhaust.

The above should get me to MOT test. I will then get the garage to change the clutch ( I hate the Jimny clutch change having done it once)

5. Interior re-fit
