Indeed it is more expensive. But quality costs. Also the rope is made of true Dyneema, unlike most other cheaper winches with synth rope.

Mine was just about £700 but came with lots of extra s with it battery cut off, remote etc etc you pay for what you get

i have a tds goldfish on mine, when i used it it killed my battery?
did you use i high valt battery or bigger out put alternator?

You need a good quality battery with high CCA. Numax are good budget batteries for winching.

They also make mlitary spec as supplied to the US army for the Iraq conflict

Ok, as a newbie to off roading and what I really want to enjoy is green laning, how often do you actually use your winch?
I know this is a 'how long is a piece of string' question, but for green laning, does it get used that often that you need top end?
Now I'm all for buying quality products, I do it with everything in life, but if I can buy a good quality winch that will pull me out of trouble on the odd occasion and do it well then I'm happy. But if you tell me from experience I need high end products then I will consider it.
