We are near Brecon, spoke to the guy who i bought the engine from he ran me through a series of tests to see if its the lamda sensor, or something, nothing changed.
I guess I can always take the engine out and get a refund a,d slot another in, its a two day thing but kind of feeling
tired of trying to figure it out.
There is only one cat on this model the middle one I guess it is totally cooked now.
It got red hot like that from driving 2 minutes up and down out track.
its scary, makes you wonder what happens if you drive for 10 minutes, maybe it will turn into a jet engine.
could be a special model with extra boost

I can't see how it would be getting hot on the downwind side of the cat unless there is a blockage further along. Has your back box collapsed? Try it without the back box on. It will be noisy but you'll soon see if it runs better. Or becomes an epic flamethrower...
Why did you have to replace the engine in the first place?

AS IV SAID UNBOLT THE JOINT AFTER THE CAT AND SEE HOW YOU GET ON BECAUSE THE REST OF THE EXHAUST MAY BE BLOCKED CAUSEING BACK PRESURE

Ok boys and girls here is the report, when I put the new engine back in, i knocked the coil pack electrical connector some, so when I plugged it in it was not engaging properly, only 3 injectors where working properly, the extra fuel
is dumped into the exhaust and hence the jet engine effect.
The engine is now good, the exhaust is good except that it failed its emission test probably due to the fact that the cat has overheated.
The bad news (or good) is that the reason i changed the engine in the first place was because the water was boiling out,
which I thought was a head gasket, but turned out that new engine does the same........
Due to radiator cap missing a spring.
So much toil for one little part, I have ordered a new one, that should sort all the problems, The engine is 60k less than older one so i guess some good came out of it.
