I do run both daily.........I sort of dread using the Jimny
IMHO, there is NO comparison. In my use the Pajero will not be stopped, mostly I can speak from experience on snow and ice too.....unbeatable. The Jimny may be lighter but for my uses is totally weedy. Built like a tank the Pajer is sturdy.
I've used SJ, Cherokee, Vitara on the field. Cherry gets bogged down. Jimny is neck breaking. Vitara is OK . Pajero breezes it.
Fuel consumption is about 25 going to to 32 on a good long run in my diesel Paj compared to about mid 30s of the Jimny all round.
Diff lock..............I dunno if you count the limited slip diff but it has that.
Comfort...........suspension driver's seat. A real seat too.
Height, towers over the Jimny.
Strangely though it isn't too wide.
Once you have had a Pajero you will not want owt else.

That's what I was expecting..........with power steering and things like aircon I expected it to be SJ plus but, you know what, it hasn't turned out like that for me. Maybe my SJ was a first love. Maybe I am a bit tubbier these days. Maybe my Pajero has muddied the water but for some reason the Jimny just has not lived up to my expectations. It has been a disappointment.

What tyres were you running on the pajero my brother seams to go every were my jimny goes and gets stuck about the same about jimny mite push on a little and proberly due to weight but can only think of once and wasnt really mud that done it I think it was the speedy way I tackled itJutwit wrote: I used to have a 2.8 swb diesel pajero , very nice it was too, thought it was great off road, and it was, until my mate bought a standard sj and it went places on the soft stuff that I could only dream of, mine had the rear diff lock but couldn't go anywhere when it was bottomed out in deep mud and the suzuki just floated over the top, got rid of the paj and got myself a sj and my love affair with light weights began. After a while I got narked off with the sjs I had and got a disco after going in one and loved the space comfort etc compared to a sj, but hated it, so I then tried a Cherokee, liked that but stuff was soooo expensive for it, then got a grand vitara 2.0 soft top, liked that but the fear of the front diff blowing made me get shot of that, and now I'm in a jimny which I think is like a more like a very updated sj, and I love it. But each to their own, you makes your choices and pays your money.
