Does anybody go laning with a shogan/pajero and if so how do they compare to a Jimny?

I know a few Pajero owners with modded trucks mate, they all do very well on the lanes - I prefer the shorties

My mate I go laning with has a swab 3.5 v6 petrol shogun, it's all standard aperture from tyres and it's got more ground clearance than a standard jimny, it goes a bit further than my jimny on some stuff cos he's got a rear diff lock that was factory fitted, don't know if they all have one or if it was an extra option, but my jimny goes better on the soft stuff than his guess it's the weight, but when we have a day out laning he uses about 3/4 tank of fuel to just over a 1/4 a tank in my jimny.

my brother has a pajero modded 33 tyres, snorkel, impretza seats, arrmy green etc and it goes everywere my jimny goes its comfortable powerful no mods to run big tyres all seams strong so no need to upgrade much if I didn't already have the jimny I would go out tomorrow and buy one so much cheeper I would say not much more fuel than mine but so much more power so wouldn't matter to me loads more room better to drive only down fall over the jimny is the articulation but the power seams to over come some of this
come to think about it I would swap my jimny for a 2.8 diesel pajero with 33s a suspension lift snorkel and have to be one with rear diff lock and a winch or I would keep mine

Having looked at a couple of slightly modded pajero's I think I might be putting the Jimny up forsale, the benifits as far as I can see
I can run 33inch tyres on a shogan/pajero with out any mods so have greater ground clearance, more comfortable and roomier inside, probably better built than a Jimny.
Disadvantage's
Heavier vehicle might get bogged down in mud (extra weight means it will sink in the mud and find the grip underneath, and the lanes I do don't tend to be muddy anyway)
Heavier on fuel (I don't do many miles in the Jimny anyway)
Less articulation (some seem to have a rear diff lock which helps and I'm sure my Jimny mates could give me a little tug if I get stuck)
So I think shogan/pajero wins over Jimny for me personally
