I have a goodwinch TDS 9.5 maybe not as good as a warn but better that the lower end market I'm sure.

I ll be using it mainly for green laning and pp days I would like to get into challenges considering the kit I have built my jimny up with but don't have the sufficient roll cage, YET !

I have had a TDS 9.5c myself. Best budget winch around, and far better than the cheap Tabor winches from Warn.

I'd stick with 40mm2 cables for now, and then upgrade them later on, if you want to do challenges. Perhaps consider a Bowmotor 2 and air-free spool :)

hmm sounds good i have looked into the air-freespool but not going to get too carried away just yet !

are you running the original 1300 engine ? mine is slowly losing the life out of it and cant decide whether to upgrade to a davecc diesel special, G16B or rebuild mine !!? i have a TG 6.5:1 T-Box so is maybe not necessary to have a bigger capacity engine

Yes, still the original engine.
If I one day will swap for anything, I'll go for the G16B. Want to keep it as simple as possible, and with as easy access to spares as possible.

How many kms on that engine? Have you checked plugs, filters and such ?

101k miles i have done a full service timing belt aux belt plugs filters etc. just feels a pretty flat compare to my sammys i ve had in the past.

G16B is carb though ? jimny is injection ? is it not going backwards or are there other benefits with the G16?

sorry just looked so the G16B is just a 1600 version of our G13BB engine ? i wonder what the other differences are or whether it would be plug and play i am sure there are plenty of threads on here about it !

G16B is exactly the same. There are different versions though. But what most do is swap the block and head, and keep original Jimny intake and exhaust manifold.

You'll need a G16B with 2 coils on valve cover. Not the model with distributor.
