jimnydms wrote: Or do you have the Albright solenoid and manual isolator switch but can just always leave the isolator on as the power will be off to the winch via the Albright solenoid switch ?
You'll need 2 Albright solenoids and no manual isolator switch.
One Albright winch solenoid for winch operation and one albright winch isolator. That how I run it, and it works great

One of each

Best thing is to install the battery isolator as close to the battery as possible, and the winch solenoid as close to the winch as possible

Preferably install the winch solenoid on the winch motor itself using Gigglepin extended motorbolts

jimnydms wrote: i already have the main winch solenoid( www.red-winches.com/products/albright-solenoid-heavy-duty/11/ ) mounted in a IP65 box under the bonnet, i never knew you could get the extended bolts. so effectively all i need now is the isolator solenoid ( www.red-winches.com/products/albright-wi...tor-12v-solenoid/62/ ) and my switch panel with a on off toggle switch going to the isolator solenoid and a momentary on off on switch going to the winch solenoid. Will the main power for the in out momentary switch be linked from the on off toggle switch?
You don't need to put the winch solenoid in a waterproof box. The solenoid itself is waterproof.
Best thing is if the isolator also kills power to the winch switch.

What is overcomplicated?
He needs an isolator and a winch solenoid, and that's it. Also nice to have a switch outside, near the winch, as I wrote ealier.
