The race can be knocked out with a 1" socket on an extension bar. It fits just right, well my Halfords one does!

been following this, and it sounds easy to do, but i dont think id risk it, but on the other hand how do you know a garage is doing it right!
I think when my time comes, and it will, i will find someone local who knows what there doing and pay for them to do it for me!
Pity your all up north lol. sure theres a few heads local down south!

im down south but about 3 hour drive from you but I have full workshop that can do pretty much anything in

I think it depends on your skill set or alternatively failing that how brave/brash you are. Car Mechanics magazine used to give a spanner rating for jobs. Bear in mind it was a magazine for DIYers but if an oil change is 1 out 5 then I rate this as 3.5. It'd be so much nicer to do the job on a brand new and unused Jimny.
Whatever, remember a marathon begins with the first step. You have to start your mechanic's career somewhere; there is a first time for everything. Given detailed instructions like it used to be in Haynes manuals or lately in online guides certainly can get a beginner through most jobs.
