There are several different sizes of Double Din units, you need to make sure that you get the right one.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

The modern units bring all this together as the Jimny is a bit limited on free dashboard space and you end up with wires and gadgets all over the place.

That's why I bought mine really, I had an older double-DIN in my van and after that the stock Jimny head unit seemed very limited. I bought this one:

its a good unit but it isn't a good size, the trims that you can buy for them just don't work in the Jimny. I haven't managed to sort that yet, I've got used to the gaps now but I'll probably have another go at it once the weather improves.

I think I'll wait until I get a unit .
Most of the Chinese ads state that they are available in 2 sizes and you have to state which one you want.
The sizes quoted are

173 x 98 or
178 x 100

I started off high and worked my way down ever since :-)

I bought the suzuki double din one from the dealer with squared corners. £40 odd.
I grabbed a VW pocket from the scrappy so I had a pocket to house my temp gauge an phone. I'll prob get a double din unit in the future.

Couldn't get img tag to work so here's a link to the pic.
