So this fascia board allows you to put in a double din radio? If so does it also then allow for you to put in a standard single din fascia board for a cheaper single din radio? Or did you buy the full fascia from Suzuki?

lol that just changed.

i couldn't help it, i just love this unit, pioneer sph-da120. only thing is I need to house the exterior temp gauge somewhere else now.

The opening on this console surround is 103mm high so i had to buy another cage (the pioneer cage was 113mm high) so i used an autoleads dfpk-103 kit to mount it. This is quite common, vauxhalls, fords etc commonly have a smaller double din opening so the cage is readily available.

fits in nicely, time to swap out the wee 10cm vibe speakers i've fitted for something bigger..........time to start adapting some metal.

btw the pocket in the original pic i posted did have to be trimmed to fit too.

You can buy a single DIN fascia unit, it was standard in some markets. The part numbers are on this forum somewhere.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

I wish to do the radio modification to my new Jimny. If I use the Suzuki part listed below, What other pitfalls do I have to watch.

I notice the radio size has to be Din 2 , but know one talks about exact size. Can someone clarify this.

installation kit (990E0-59J18-KIT) cost £43.42
replacement facia (73821-76J10-5PK) £38.26.

Ant tips on what Radio /Gps I should go for.

Also, can speakers be place behind the rear panels ?

Al,

Yes, speakers can be placed behind the rear trim, and the cut-outs are already in place.
Also, the wiring is present in the nearside space behind the trim, just have extend the wires under the carpet to the offside....piece of cake, mate :)

Gus :)
