Ok a quick update from me.

I originaly ordered this Connects2 CT23 Double Din Facia Plate for Suzuki Jimny and I did not like the way it worked, you have to fit the radio to the facia plate, and insert everything in one go.

Next option was the Suzuki plate, my local dealer ordered both for me to try, and at the same time found out that the suzuki fitting kit is not longer available.

I ended up using this 73821-76J00-5PK panel. the unit is set back a bit more than I like, but it the best option I've found so far, I used the original Suzuki bracket to mount the unit, it worked fine.

Speakers, I placed 10cm in the front, and 13cm in the rear, these fitted in perfectly.

Al, when you said you used the original Suzuki bracket. What did you mean? The brackets from the original Suzuki radio?

The modern units bring all this together as the Jimny is a bit limited on free dashboard space and you end up with wires and gadgets all over the place.

That's why I bought mine really, I had an older double-DIN in my van and after that the stock Jimny head unit seemed very limited. I bought this one:

its a good unit but it isn't a good size, the trims that you can buy for them just don't work in the Jimny. I haven't managed to sort that yet, I've got used to the gaps now but I'll probably have another go at it once the weather improves.

Did you manage to sort the gaps Rhinoman? I was going to buy a unit that seemed to fit in the original hole but apparently it has limited functions. Started to do my head in now :( I really want one like you have fitted with all the gadgets on but I am fussy, especially with it being a brand new car, the gaps would not do any good for my OCD lol.
