On this subject which I confess is confusing the hell out of me ! i have standard Jimny alloys, 32mm wheel spacers that I would like to keep and want to change my AT's 205/70/15 to MT's currently no lift but plan to soon, dont mind a little trimming but what does everyone recommend size wize to get the best off road ?
195/80
205/70
215/75

and out of all what will and wont need trimming ?

Depends where you're driving really. The 195/80 and 215/75 will both improve ground clearance slightly but also increase the gearing by about 5% so the car will seem more sluggish and less economical.

The slightly wider 215 will be better on soft ground and sand but wider isn't always better! The 195 will be better in slippery conditions and deep mud, and less likely to rub on the body.

All of that considered, availability of tyres in these sizes is fairly limited so if you have a specific tyre in mind you might just have to take the size it comes in! Personally I'd avoid re-moulds unless you want lots of balancing weights and death wobble, but others swear by them.

195/80 Sidewall 156mm
205/70 sidewall 143.5mm
215/75 Sidewall 161.25

It has been said earlier that 215 75 will just fit when on standard rims though I cannot speak for when spacers are fitted.

With lift you can obviously use a taller tyre.

Height I guess is best off road for clearance.

I have remoulds now, and there is a little weight on them but I dont suffer from the wobble at all and drive the car every day.
wont have to drive it every day soon so want to add the MT's for off roading, slippy mud.

I like the feel with the wheel spacers so really would like them to stay
