I think you are probably right on reflection
would I still put the rubber mounts at the top of the spring? I guess these act as a softer mount surface and also acts as a sort of dislocation cone.

Yes fit the rubber seats there should be 4
Rears look a little like dislocation cones
Fronts look like the cone point has been cut off
sell the spacer

Exactly my plan
the rear is back together. I just need to get some washers to fit either side of the lower damper mounts. I assume there should be some
too wet to redo the fronts tonight.

stick up a few pictures of your project. Tip for you sean. Disconnect the front shock absorbers from the bottom on the front then jack up the body from the chassis makes swapping the springs soooooo much easier . Do the same for the rear.

Thanks. I dd that when I put the spacers in the front last week It helped to just remove the calipers too. At least it has all been apart so there should be no issues.
Hmm! A project. Almost. It set off as something just to jump in and go while my 90 is off the road but I guess it is heading more that way.
