To me the ARB damage looks like something, probably a bolt, chewed into it, repeatedly.
So the ARB might be OK, however with all the bits inside the diff it will have to be cleaned like everything in the rear axle.
I think it amazing that the car worked at all.

Nothing a handful of sawdust and thicker oil can't fix!
I wouldn't get too attached to that locker as you confess you don't use it.
Enjoy the new dif and create an interesting garden ornament from the old one.

Well done to the people who have pointed out that the bolts are crown wheel bolts. I didn't look at the back.
It's shed most of the bolts. There are two tight ones left and a couple of loose ones and the rest have gone!
At least it's not my fault!

Its an old method, but for critical internal bolts to be very secure, you can't beat good old fashioned wire-locking. (Bolt heads would need to be drilled)
