Its slacken the nut towards the engine(not tighten) to take the load off the cable. The pedal will not go down but up! Then adjust as described.

hum... if i slacken that nut, i'll be letting the bit of cable inside the gearbox hole slide back out towards the engine a bit, and this will take the pedal down, but it will also take preassure of the metal arm inside the hole, right? then i use the other nut inside the hole on the exposed piece of metal cable to take up slack..
but shouldn´t the cable that regulates that arm's movement be tight so the action is direct so that it wouldn´t "flap" about?
i'm asking this because i'm assuming that the burning smell is due to that arm not operating from one end to the other completely because....ooohhhh, that's it, giving it slack
gonna try this tomorrow or the day after and i'll post how it goes
thank you so much

The Jimny is an old design. Most modern cars have an automatic adjuster that takes up the slack.
The Jimny should have 2-4mm slack on the outer cable at the gearbox adjuster.
It shouldn't be done up tight.
If you have ever owned a motorcycle or push bike it's like leaving a small gap(slack) on the cables at the lever.
Scroll down this link and you'll find the correct procedure.

so, this past weekend i got under the car and had a fiddle..
seems like i have a problem..
so.. first of all, i only seem to have one adjustment to work with.
i have a black plastic ribbed nut on the outside of the bell housing where the cable goes into the box, and that's it.
inside the hole where the clutch arm is, there is no adjustment.
so, i loosened the available adjuster, and had a friend press the clutch pedal, no change.
so i pulled a bit of cable thru the hole where the clutch arm is and the pedal became lighter to use.
then i had a drive. the pedal was infact lighter, but with use, like 4 or 5 gear changes, it went back to the way it was. still burning clutch as well.
so i'm wondering... that adjuster, the plastic nut... does it simply screws and unscrews, or should i loosen it, pull some cable thru, and tighten it back up to keep the cable play in place?
this is the clutch cable i have, so it's not the wrong one

Sounds like the cable is sticking inside its sheath. Reckon new cable is needed.

The cable is newish, changed it at the same time as the clutch, started to smell a month or so after.
If it was sticking it would slow down the cable action and just burn cluch for a bit,nor permanently ithink.
This is doing my nut in. Gonna have one last fiddle tomorrow, and if that doesnt fix it I'm gonna get someone more qualified to fix it for me. This is getting really anoying
