A registered vehicle has to be roadworthy certificate done by a third party when the ownership is changed, but other than that theres not much else. In QLD there are laws about massive lifts effecting drivability and what not but nothing much.
Worst case scenario, a cop might be inspecting my vehicle for defects / illegal mods. As long as you're confident in your answers and sound like you know what you're talking about, they'll leave you alone.
I got pulled over recently, breath testes for alcohol (0.00% of course!) and he asked me if I'd made any modifications to the vehicle. I said yes. Told him I'd installed a 40mm lift kit as well has 17mm bigger tyres, bringing my total lift to 57mm, which is under 75mm and is therefore legal in QLD.
He was happy with that, didn't even look at anything on the car.

All the bolts were rusted to hell. Took 30 mins and a lot of swearing! But here it is!
Noticed that it's instantly smoother. Amazing feeling. Haven't noticed much extra body roll, but I'm not a plonker and don't take corners too fast, so I'm not surprised.
30 mins is pretty quick TBH. You did well IMHO. Not including any jacking up etc. the front bolts on the two bracket securing the RB to the frame can take a bit of getting at cos you have to loosen off the bumper and even then they are pigs. Once you have done the job and all the bolts are made easier to remove using something like Copaslip it does get quicker and easier but I would guess it takes me about an hour.
I might be slow though in general as it took me two mornings to do one set of kingpins. A job I loathed. I am not proud, I admit I am slower than most.
It's like when you go to the chippy and they say "couple of minutes for the chips" when it takes more like five times that - irritating in the extremus.
Yes, I found the car a bit smoother on road BUT, funnily enough, when I replaced mine I noticed no difference at all and that includes cornering, handling and so as well as ride. So I left mine on as I don't do serious mudplugging/rockclimbing which requires massive amounts of articulation and it gave me peace of mind knowing the vehicle was unmodified.

I said 5 mins to remove 1 drop link, not the whole thing! The idea being if you don't like it, it's only another 5 mins to put the drop link back on.

No bumper

easy access

Driven it around quite a bit tonight. I notice a slight increase in body roll on roundabouts. SO much smoother though, oh my god.
