Anti-roll bar - keep or remove was created by jtayl153
Hi all.

I've read that people have removed their anti roll bar and Im curious as to why someone would?

What are the benefits?
What are the drawbacks??

Pros: More articulation, smoother less crashy ride.
Cons: slightly more body roll.

Take it off you wont regret it in my opinion.

Beware tho if you have a suspension lift you will need extended brake lines.

Oh right of course. Its 230am here, brain just got into gear!

No ARB = More Articulation = more distance between wheel and brake fluid = need longer lines otherwise risk snapping standard lines if fully flexed.

right?

Bang on mate. I've had mine off for ages, it rolls around a little more but not a massive amount, and the articulation is supposedly greater, though I've never seen any comparison photos/figures...
Be aware though - the MOT becomes a point of contention.
I'm not a tester, nor am I in the trade, however I am lead to believe that a missing anti-roll bar is an MOT failure.
If you un-bolt all the mounting brackets and droplinks, unless the tester is a jimny expert they are unlikely to realise it should have one.

[edit, just realised you aren't in the UK, so ignore the MOT stuff, that's UK specific.]
