the 3/8 does undo the gearbox filler but the tranny box and axle fillers are really FTjonesyba420 wrote: i just hold the 3/8 ratchet head firmly in place so it cant twist out.
the plugs shouldnt be overly tight anyway....................they dont need to be FT!

I know they can be FT but they shouldnt be, people just go over the top tightening them up. I pop a smear of copper grease on the thread to stop them seizing in to much and just nip them tight.

they'll be out somehow. new plugs ordered and picking up tomorrow. if the key and a breaker bar doesn't work i'll weld a bolt on to get em out

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationThere's this one to, which is a bit cheaper

yeah i had one of those about 18 months ago. it bent. oh and watch out for the britool expert 10mm key ! it isn't 10mm . measures nearly 11mm so no good.

I went down exactly the same school of thought and bought a 10mm square socket, then rounded the inside of the filler plug just like a 3/8 ratchet does, so it was a waste of time & money.
I now undo it with a big set of mole grips on the outside and do them up with a 3/8 ratchet. The gearbox and transfer boxes don't mind the 3/8 ratchet and are made of stearner stuff!
