I read a lot on here before purchasing a tow-bar for my Jimny, and there was some discussion about whether it was indeed possible to fit a (Tow-Trust) towbar without having to remove the Jimny's bumper...

After reading the threads on here I then read the instructions and confirmed removing the bumper was not necessary, and the installation looked fairly easy and straight-forward...

So I bought one, and wrote a blog / review of fitting one, here - www.bits4vits.co.uk/store/fitting-a-tow-...-jimny/blog_249.html

Hope that helps someone out there! ;)

Easy enough, and makes for a better recovery towpoint than the factory tie-downs!

Mightas well remove the bumper as it only takes 5 10 mins also makes it easyer to wire it up

I agree with markyp2000 fitting mine was easy and could of definatly been done without removing the bumper but for the sake of 5 mins to take the bumper off and refit it, it saves so much time and effort!

that's a great pictorial guide ;)

but still going to have to remove the bumper to feed the cable for the socket electrics,
as of March this year the MOT will fail any car fitted with a tow-bar that doesn't have working elec socket

:(
