Sorry to hijack the thread, but I was just wondering if anyone knows why Suzuki recommend 10W30 when 10W40 covers a bigger temp range (same low end as 10W30, but higher top end), and is therefore "better"? Plus, I already have 10W40 oil anyway!

i use in almost all my cars 0W60's, fully syn 100%! Nothing worn to overkill if you can aford it. I do that for last 14-15 years and still did not find any problem. Rather pay attention on quoality of oil!
We did recently some nice research about quolity of oil. Result are suprising!!!
As we have engine dyno and als pretty much advanced electronic rig, we did it one nasty test that did bring down to their knees some oil makers! 10 ramp runs in eash round, 3 rounds! So result CANT be doubted! 100% repeatibility, right? Some oil's after that ramp runs was running on 125 deegre, some of been cool as 105 ONLY! Those cooler once was been in most of cases higher viscosity and on different RPM's was having also more oil pressure. Like very simple test's but very accurate and very usefull!

So a 20/50 will run cooler than a 0/30?? Have I got that right??
