It was a brand new one on a test drive the angle of impact mustn't have been right for the bags to deploy or something it's a bit daft tho how they sometimes go off and other times don't plus I imagine one would hurt like hell if it went off! Lol

Depends what airbags are fitted & where the impact was as they are directional. So a side or corner impact won't set of steering wheel bag as its there to decelerate the forward motion of the head & upper body, but probably would set off a side curtain bag if fitted.

I see ya problem if you didn't have the winch sticking out the front you would've got out of that gulley

If you had been there you'd disagree with yourself! The angles can never be appreciated in photos! The other side was a good 3 feet flat faced climb and the front is caught up at the bottom, so even if the wheels protruded out the front of the car it could never have climbed it.

My bumper doesn't stick out too much and is high, so the approach angle is good, it could be better but in this case the impact has been taken by the bumper and chassis straight on. If the wheels had been proud of the bumper they would have taken the impact and transmitted it through the radius arms possibly damaging them but more likely their tin plate mounting points on the chassis and axles!

I considered winching the front up but I probably would've snapped my rope and my winch tray would've been like a jcb digger scooping up the earth!

Instead my mate used his 90's 8274 and a double line pull back out the way it came.
